The recent ice bucket challenge craze to hit social media by surprise has not only helped raise money for charity but also pushed positive challenges across social media. This craze has been endorsed by several celebrities who helped get this great cause our there.

There has been some controversy about about Macmillan hijacking the ice bucket challenge and a lot of people on twitter were happy to share their thoughts too. Macmillan have also stated that they started the ice bucket challenge earlier in July. We should not be asking the question who is hijacking what but why can’t we find the Als association anywhere online when you search the “Als Ice bucket challenge” on Google?

Having your adverts appear on Google Adwords is very simple as long as you are prepared to pay for each click incurred. If you are a charity however its costs you nothing and Google are prepared to provide UK registered charities (and a few other countries) $10,000 a month worth of free advertising on Google a month through the Google Grant scheme.
