It’s the largest Amazon Seller event of the year so it should come as no surprise to read that the Clear Ads team were front and centre for this year’s event! With more Amazon Sellers attending the three day event than any other event in the world, there’s no way that we wouldn’t make the trip to be a part of it all. The fact that the expo takes place in Las Vegas just made it all the sweeter!
We jetted off from London keen to immerse ourselves in all things Amazon and to learn all about the new strategies, tactics and techniques Amazon’s best sellers had developed and were eager to share. We weren’t disappointed.
The long weekend started with the Helium 10 VIP party. It kicked off moments after we landed at McCarran International Airport so we grabbed our luggage and hightailed it over before the jet lag set in. The party brought together a large number of the biggest players in the Amazon selling world. Manny Coats hosted this incredible event at the Palms Casino Resort – a beautiful space which is very cool and stylish. It’s home to the world’s most expensive hotel room, created by Damien Herst so you just know this resort is something special.
The party was a great start to the event and gave us the opportunity to reconnect with Amazon sellers and industry leaders as well as meet a few new faces.
After the party, co-founders Matt Clark and Jason Katzenback officially opened SellerCon. They took the chance to talk a little about the event itself, sharing a few stories about how it has evolved into the must visit show for so many sellers on Amazon over the years. One of our own largest clients told us that Matt (pictured below) actually got him started on his journey in 2013.
Over 3000 people passed through the doors this year and they were treated to expert insight from more than 40 speakers. As well as Matt and Jason, several incredible figures from the Amazon Sellers space shared their thoughts and know-how including Rich Dad, Poor Dad author, Robert Kiyosaki and Dave Asprey, the founder of Bulletproof a nutrition brand that has raised over $68.
I personally found some of the most valuable sessions came from the following talks:
This year’s SellerCon took place at the MGM Grand, on the Vegas Strip. The energy and buzz of the city certainly seemed to fuel the three-day expo as there was a tonne of information and inspiration lurking around every corner. We talked about brand building, marketing, new tech, Amazon techniques, scaling sales and a dozen other topics.
We found room to network, connect and have a great time with other Amazon Sellers in different stages from every part of the world and we’ll definitely be back next year!
